Our Little Yellow Baby

Our sweet boy giving our little sweet boy some love. Yes, that's a moose with a diaper. Henry (or Kellan) got a moose and the book "If You Give a Moose a Muffin" book as a present. Kellan has enjoyed diapering many of his stuffed animals. :)

I'm sure you can see the color differences between Kellan and Henry. Yes, they both came from the same parents! We took Henry to the doctor's for his post hospital check-up last week. His bilirubin was suspected of being high as was Kellan's when he was born. And the yellow eyes were a giveaway. We took him to the lab for some blood work and sure enough, it was pretty high. We had him checked the next 2 days and it went up, so a special light was ordered for him. Thank goodness for modern medical technology otherwise we'd be back in the hospital. A nurse came to our house, delivered and set up our "bili-light". Henry just lays on it and the light helps to bring his level down. The other thing in our favor is the fact that he is eating, peeing and pooping like a champ! (more than you wanted to know, I'm sure) . I was so worried that it would really interfere with our cuddling time and make it hard to feed him, but it's very portable and easy to handle. He'll get checked again tomorrow, so hopefully he can come off of it for good.
