Another blizzard in Leesburg

The Blizzard of 10 that hit the DC Metro Area started yesterday around 1030am. Unfortunately, I was scheduled to go into work at 2pm which I was really dreading for fear of getting stuck there all night or all weekend. I had to stay until 11pm last night, but bolding got into our 4-wheel drive (thank goodness!) and drove home. The hospital I work at is about 20 miles from our house, so not always the easiest of commutes even on sunny, dry days. I think I saw about 3 other cars on the road at that hour, but was happy to see about 100 snow plows and trucks. Despite the 10 inches that had already come down, they were doing an excellent job at keeping the roads driveable. It only took me about 45 minutes to get home and after awhile, I have to say I was kind of having fun driving. I think what made it more enjoyable was that I didn't have a bunch of other cars in front of or behind me to make me more nervous. I had the 3 lane road all to myself, just driving right down the middle. Tim took a picture of me when I got home and I took a picture looking down our driveway but it's kind of hard to see.

Here's our "measurements". Last night around midnight (10-12 inches), about 9am this morning (18-20 inches), and

about 1pm today (about 25 inches).
They are predicting about 30-36 inches when it's over. Unbelievable, especially since that is probably the entire total of snow fall we've had since we moved here in 2000!

Kellan looking longingly outside at Daddy, Harmony and our neighbor shoveling for the 4th time. Harmony has been in all her glory jumping through the snow drifts and is now constantly begging to go outside. Kellan has been content just looking out the windows. He and I made some Valentine cookies while Daddy was outside shoveling.

The flag still waves!!

Oh, my! The snow is awesome! Our measly little 3 inches cannot compare -though we may end up with 3 more tomorrow... Patty
