Lanz Christmas

Christmas at G'pa and G'ma Lanz's is always a day or two long event. Lots of fun, laughter, game playing and eating! We always have to have the usual family portraits (or attempts).  It gets trickier every year as the family grows. We are up to 10 grand kids now, with 11 on the way! :)

Kellan had come down with a little bug for 2 days. Just a fever that would really knock him out for an hour or so until the medicine would kick in. We took a trip to the ER New Year's Day to make sure it wasn't strep since he was complaining of throat pain. Nope, it wasn't, just a virus that he'd have to work through. Poor guy!

Henry thought his cement truck was pretty cool!

A bit of  fun chaos!
Cousins Devan and Noah helping Kellan put his Legos together.

Cousin Jayde playing Legos with Kellan. See the theme here?

Now we've moved on to the game "Pretty, Pretty Princess" that Henry and Kellan thought was quite amusing!

Some sort of  card game going on somewhere in the house
And it's always snack time somewhere in the house too. Brooklyn and Henry enjoying some yogurt together.
Getting some always special G'ma time in!

Christmas with the Burke's

Kellan playing G'pa Burke in some Wii golf. I'm pretty sure G'pa could show you a thing or two Kellan with his many years of golfing expertise!

Cousin Ben doing his usual teenage thing
Cousin Sam with their new kitty
We celebrated Burke Christmas a week later at the Nortz house. Everyone was there except cousin Kelly who had to go back to college for gymnastics practice. U. Pat was the master chef of the eve.

Who is that sneaking into the presents??!
A. Patty caught you two!

Wow, a light saber!
Let the battles begin!
A fun new guitar
Pop the Pig game, let's play!
Henry, looking fashionable with your scarf on

Not sure when we last had a family photo. We'll have to photo-shop Kelly into the picture.

Ohio Winter Fun

We arrived to U Jeff's and A Darlene's Friday afternoon (one day later due to the road conditions thru the mountains).  They have a great sledding hill in their back yard so the boys excitedly got their snow gear on and out they went.  We don't see this amount of snow in VA very often nor do we have a great sledding hill so close!  Henry tried the sled once and then wasn't so sure about it, so he stuck with something a little more his speed, shoveling.

Henry going at a slower speed, on his bottom
Go Kellan!

The snow dog, Lea
Cousins!

Day 2:Henry can't get enough, back up the hill again
Day 2 (Saturday): Back out for more sledding and a couple more inches of fresh snow. The big boys were busily making some new ramps while Daddy and Henry had fun testing them. Notice at the bottom of the hill, a large lake!  That made Mommy a bit nervous, but they were careful! I think they about hit the trees a few times though!

Nick and Noah, expert sledders
Peaches and Devan
Silly bird!
Peaches is the newest member of the Lanz household. They've had her a few months and she just fits right in. So friendly and sociable, she just loves on anyone that allows her to. Climbs up your sleeve, snuggles into your hair, talks, plays with toys. So funny!  Even Lea has come to love her.  The boys didn't want to hold her, but they loved watching her and petting her.

Kellan didn't want to go sledding the 2nd day b/c he had way too many Legos to play with. This is where his love for Legos started!  It's always a big highlight of his when going to the Lanz house!

Merry Christmas!!

Kellan was our first one awake, bright and early at 7am. I knew there was no going back to sleep, so we crept down stairs to see if Santa had arrived. Yep, sure enough, it looks like he out did himself yet again! Kellan happily posed in front of the mountain, then proceeded to organize them in different piles. Henry decided to sleep another hour longer.

Pete, our elf, keeping watch from on top of the tree.
Love a White Christmas!!
Father, son and dog

We can love on each other all day long if that means there are presents involved!!

Cool guitar Henry!
Pillow Pets Dream Lites for both
Hmmm, what's this?
A joint gift from Daddy, a fish tank!

Another "joint" gift, a race track. I think when you have 2 boys close in age, everything becomes joint gifts!

Mommy playing the guitar
Now time to put all these things together.
A bit flimsier then the box indicated, but still fun
I don't think we are going to get a family Christmas picture this year. We have unwilling participants!!
