B&B of Wicklow

We spent the weekend in the hills of the Blue Ridge Mts at a good friend of Danisa's. Barb and Rich are in the process of building their gorgeous "retirement" home here. Danisa has worked with Barb in the same unit at the hospital for the past 4 years and has invited us down many times. We finally made it on the weekend when everything was in peak bloom. The weather couldn't have been more perfect. They have a carriage house with a studio-like apartment that we stayed in. We were fed many yummy meals, Barb is a great cook!

Across the street from them is the Maury River. Kellan and Daddy enjoyed throwing rocks in. From left to right is Rich, Tim, Nick(another coworker that joined us for the day) and his daughter Lucy, Barb, Kellan and Danisa. Jen (Nick's wife) took the picture.

Kellan had a ball playing with "Cee" (Lucy). She's just a few months older, so they got along great. We spent most of our time outdoors playing with rocks, leaves, sticks, whatever we could find. They have a dog Murphy that was happy to play with Harmony, except for one little tussle, but we won't get into that. Dogs are like kids, not always getting along. They also have a beautiful horse, Dante, which Kellan loved from far away. We couldn't convince him that he was nice enough to pet or even get within 10 yards of him. Kellan is still talking about Dante.

Harmony checking Dante out. Harmony had her own little adventure while we were there. We don't often let her roam free without a leash, for a reason! She decided to take advantage of her freedom Saturday morning and went on a hike. Well, we then spent a frantic 45 minutes looking for her in the forests of the Blue Ridge Mts. No fun! Of course we found her and that ended her freedom.

Kellan getting some love from Barb (and some cheesecake)

Check out my booboo....right before we left Kellan had a little fall on their deck. One step too far and down he went. A few tears and some hugs is all that was needed. He ended up with a few ugly scrapes.
