It's time for a party! We had to wake Henry from his nap right as our first guests were arriving. We went low key this birthday with just a few friends. One of the many reasons we are moving, so that we have more space to invite all our friends. Although I can't say Henry has a lot of friends yet! The Blairs (Wyatt and Wes), The O'Shaughnessy's (Ollie and Lily) and our neighbor's, The Brown's (Ruth-Henry's daycare pal).
Henry's favorites: mac-n-cheese and chicken nuggets were served for the little ones. The adults got to eat crockpot lasagna and salad. I let the guys handle the crazy kids, while the ladies ate leisurely in the dining room. :)
Decided to have one game for our firetruck themed party: stick the hat on the dalmation (a version of pin the tail on the donkey). A couple of pictures of the boys while they are cooperating.
Henry's friends: Wesley and Lily (Wes and Lily are about 6 months younger)
I attempted to be Martha again with Henry's birthday cake. Bought a Wilton Firetruck pan and followed the directions. It looks pretty good in a picture, just don't look too close. I'd say not bad for my first decorated cake. Thank goodness a 2 year old isn't too judgemental!
Love the intense look of Henry's face while we are singing, then the very excited "Yay for me!" look while we were clapping.
Time for presents. Henry got some fun new books, a Little People dump truck, and a cool Playmobile rocket. Thanks everyone!
