Happy Daddy's Day!! Since we all slept in the same room, we all were up with the early riser, Henry. We quietly went to the living room so we wouldn't wake G'ma and G'pa to give Daddy his presents. I made him a mini photo/brag book for him to keep at his office. The boys enjoyed looking at it all together.
Daddy and his boys! :)
I made a yummy breakfast for everyone before we had to pack up and head back to VA. A few family photos before departing.
I really didn't want to drive home on Father's Day, but Tim couldn't miss another day at work and he insisted he was okay with this. Well, I was thinking we'd be home in time for a nice dinner. Nope, not in the plans this day. First time in the 11 years we've lived in VA have we had to sit on the highway for 3 hours due to an accident. Thankfully it wasn't raining (or snowing), so we got out, along with everyone else, and played in the road. I don't think the boys will ever look at a highway the same again! Good thing Daddy always travels with a bat and a ball. Kellan and Daddy played a bit of baseball, while Mommy kept Henry from eating roadside rocks! We met several other little kids and before long, they were all running around. It was actually quite comical! I can't imagine if they had to sit in their carseats for that length of time!
Harmony was along for the ride too and she did great! We let her out a few times too. We had to eat our Father's Day dinner at Wendy's once we got back on the road. 11 hours later, we pulled into our driveway around 10 pm with 2 boys sound asleep. Whew, what an exhausting trip!
Oh, and more than half way home, Tim informs me that he left his work laptop in his parents closet. Are you kidding me?? So we could have stayed until Monday anyway!! AGH! I still love you honey, you are the best hubby and greatest father to our boys!
