Florida Sunshine

Tim and I took a mini vacation to Florida for a wedding and to visit his Uncle Jim. Both places were within about 40 miles of each other so it couldn't have worked out better. We flew into Ft Lauderdale and drove north to Palm Beach to visit his Uncle Jim first. He took us to lunch when we got to his condo, we then enjoyed the afternoon out on Juno Beach. We napped, showered and got ready for a yummy Italian dinner outside watching the waterfalls and listening to the music. Jim took us for a tour around the ritzy Palm Beach area and checked out Tiger Wood's $26 million yacht!

We headed back south to Delray Beach the next day and checked into the Marriott. A couple photos from our mini patio with the small view of the ocean. Ahhh, the smell of salty air and the sound of the waves! Vacation!

We quickly got the swimsuits on and headed down to the pool area for a light bite before heading out to the beach.

The beach was just across the street from the hotel. There were really no hotels directly on the beach in this area, which made the beach feel so much less cluttered and natural. This is the tree covered walkway to get to the beach.

Found some reclining chair, an umbrella and our books! It felt odd to not have some little ones to be constantly on the look out for. I enjoyed watching everyone else's, then enjoyed reading my book and napping!

Saturday evening at 6pm was the wedding. It was a picture perfect setting and day. A sailboat cruised by right before the wedding started. We sat out in white chairs right on the beach. About 60 people of close family and friends. Erik has been a good friend of Tim's since college and they have remained in pretty close contact thru the years. He and his fiance Amy live in Columbus. His parents now live in Delray, so that is why they chose this location. His first wedding, so extra special!

We sat with some old friends from Columbus and had a great time thru the evening catching up and having fun! Can't remember the last time I got out on the dance floor.

We were also invited to brunch at their hotel the following morning. A full breakfast buffet. Yum! The happily married couple, Mr and Mrs Feinstein

We had one last day and evening to ourselves on Sunday. More beach lounging after brunch, a casual stroll thru the town gift shops, then we got ready for another yummy dinner at a seafood place. The town of Delray is so quaint! All open air restaurants, artsy stores and various bands playing music. Very fun and vibrant! Tim's boss treated us to a fancy dinner. He told Tim to pick someplace "very expensive" and enjoy since he had recently put in some long hours. So we did....appetizer, dinner and dessert, all washed down with a bottle of wine!! :) Thanks Carpathia!
Another great trip with my honey! We were missing the kiddos and we were ready to get home come Monday afternoon. Thanks also to our family for giving us this opportunity!
