We celebrated our 10 anniversary a little more the following week in Charlottesville, VA. We've always wanted to go to this historic, quaint little town and finally decided this was the perfect time to go. The Lanz grandparents were the greatest for coming to babysit the munchkins while we got away. We stayed at the Foxfield Inn B&B and it was heavenly! Our room was the Audubon room, so fitting to it's name, was decorated with birds. And a birdfeeder outside the window for us to watch while we sipped our wine and cozied up next to the fireplace. We also enjoyed the very deluxe hot tub in the bathroom!
On the full day we were there, we hired a driver to take us around to a couple wineries and a brewery. It was kind of a cloudy, drizzly day, so perfect for wine tasting and sitting back lazily while someone else drove. Our driver grew up in the area and was able to give us lots of details. And take a few photos of us!
Our innkeepers were so nice and served up some delicious breakfasts! The breakfasts were about 4 courses with dessert! Yummm!
Overall ,we had a great trip, reconnecting with each other. We sometimes get a little lost with each other when taking care of two little ones!! It was nice to have peaceful dinners out, naps, book reading time, etc. But of course we missed the boys and we were happy to get lots of hugs when we got home!
