Wisp Resort at Deep Creek Lake, Md was our destination on my (Danisa's) birthday Thursday. We drove in rain the whole way there, about a 3 hour drive from VA, but ended up being a gorgeous weekend. Deep Creek is located in the western part of MD. Wisp is a ski resort, but has many other activities during the summer too. We enjoyed hiking, picnicking, swimming, eating out, and just having fun as a family. This was our first "family" trip together, so it was extra special!

These picnic tables had these awesome built in seats for the little one! Our picnic view was of this little beach on the lake. Lovely! I enjoyed a facial and an afternoon of relaxation at the hotel's spa for my birthday. Thanks honey!

We drove to Swallow Falls Park and did some hiking. Kellan just gets a kick out of being in the backpack. The bigger falls are actually called Muddy Creek Falls, the largest in Maryland. Very beautiful!!

On Saturday we watched the US National Championships Whitewater Slalom. Check out their website, it's pretty cool. This is a man-made course that they can adjust the rapids to different levels of difficulty. http://www.adventuresportscenter.com/ We thought about putting Kellan in a kayak.

Kellan and I were playing a round of "Lick'm, Stick'm". He won! We enjoyed a couple swims at the indoor pool. Kellan loves his floaty.

The hotel crib caused a few problems...I think the picture pretty much explains the problem. But, as you can see, our little guy was pretty happy despite the crib issues and the bad cold that he had on the trip. If you look very closely, you also may see the two little toothers he now has!

This was the spectacular view we had out our hotel window. We overlooked the golf course and mountains and enjoyed two nights of gorgeous sunsets!
