Goodbye Essie!

We said "goodbye" to our Essie after almost 3 years of wonderful daycare in her home. We felt it was time to move Henry to Open Arms for a bit more structure and somewhere that had more kids Henry's age. Also a bit more convenient for dropping off/picking up.  She took such great care of Henry and I always felt comfortable dropping him off, knowing he was in good hands!  She usually only had about 5-6 kids at a time(unless her and Jake's 6 kids were home from school!) all which became Henry's good friends. Henry usually went 2 days a week, the days that I was working, but she was always willing and able to take him an extra day if I worked a 3rd day or if I had a doctor's appt, etc.
 

There just so happened to be another Henry who is a month and a half younger than our Henry. Our Henry adopted the nickname "B" (for Henry B) so as not to get too confused. Henry M, Ruthie (our old neighbor) and Natalie were the full timers and became B's buddies.  Essie had other kids come and go throughout our time there. We came to know her family well, including her sister Julie and her 3 kids, her very special Mom, Grandma Cheryl as she became known,  her new husband Jake(and his 3 kids), and Essie's own kids, Amber, Abby, and Parker.  It was really a second family that we will forever cherish! We now both live in the same neighborhood so hope to continue seeing them!

 

Henry M and B had a brotherly type relationship. They loved on each other one minute, hit each other the next!  They took turns in time out some days. Overall they played well together and it was so fun watching them develop and grow in different ways.

 

Essie, we love you and we'll miss you! Thank you for becoming a special part of B's life!
