We spent a few days relaxing in Chincoteague a couple weekends ago and took our bikes along. Much to our surprise and excitement, the wild ponies were on the trail the morning we went. In the 10+ years we've been going, we've never been this close. We pulled off to the side and got the camera ready. They quietly munched and strolled past us, getting close enough to give our bikes a sniff. Kellan was a little unsure, but felt safe in Daddy's arms. They are a little scraggly up close b/c they are wild and they eat the salty marsh grasses so their bellies are very bloated. Still beautiful!
