We have been waiting for the day that we could take Kellan to the National Zoo. He loves to make all the animal noises, so felt pretty confident that he'd enjoy seeing all these animals "in person". Well, they are a little bigger in real life then in his little books so he clung pretty tightly to us at some points. He's liking the cut out version of the tiger and was okay with seeing the real lion from his stroller. We couldn't quite see the prairie dogs, but it was fun petting the bronzed one. And then there was the aquarium...didn't take to fondly to very large fish swimming "at" him. I don't know if you can zoom in on the death grip he has on me or the very scared facial expression. We didn't stay too long in that area.
I thought for sure he'd be more scared in the elephant and hippo house, but he seemed pretty okay with checking them out. Elephants are one of his favorite animals to imitate. I like the picture of his view from the stroller. Most of the time the bar was right in his line of vision, so many of boosts were needed.
Going to the zoo is exhausting!!
