Kellan Patrick turned ONE November 20th, and his parents are in disbelief that a year has flown by already. He has been a blessing full of joy, sunshine, giggles and so much love. He makes us laugh everyday watching him explore the world and learn new things. Just this past week he started standing more and taking one or two steps holding on to things. We think he'll be 13 or 14 months before he's really walking and that's ok, we really aren't encouraging it! He gets around and into enough trouble crawling. He babbles nonstop, waves bye-bye or hello to everyone and everything, has 6 chompers and still is a super eater! Next week is our official 1 year doctor appointment, so we'll update on his growth chart standings.
Okay, so let's tell you all about his 1st birthday. We drove to G'ma and G'pa Burke's house Weds evening so that we'd be there all day for his birthday. Mommy woke up Thursday morning with some sort of flu bug, so was pretty sad she wasn't feeling up to par. While Mommy napped, Daddy and the grandparents took Kellan to the Nature Center. See pictures in next blog. Not sure how excited he got over the snakes, birds and turtles, but it's never too early to introduce them to nature right? We had a yummy dinner made by G'ma and then the big event we've all been waiting for....CAKE!! Kellan's Aunt Ann and cousin Kelly made him a bright blue "smash" cake which you'll see in all the pictures below. It was too funny watching Kellan eat his cake ever so neatly, picking off the white icing dots one by one, then shoving his whole hand in his mouth so not to miss any bit of icing. We got so wrapped up in the whole cake eating event, we forgot to have him open his presents. Oops! He's happy with an empty box and paper anyway. :)

Happy 1st Birthday to ME !!

Yummmm! Okay, I'm going to try it. Yep, it's tasty, just as I thought!
